Gmail SMTP Server Settings

Introduction

A little-known feature about Gmail and Google Apps email is Google's portable SMTP server. Instead of having to manage your own outgoing mail server on your DigitalOcean VPS, you can simply configure Google's SMTP server settings into whatever script or program you wish to send email from. All you need is either a (i) free Gmail account or (ii) paid Google Apps account.

Benefits

You have the option of having Google store and index the emails you send via its SMTP server, so all your sent emails will be searchable and backed-up on Google's servers. If you elect to use your Gmail or Google Apps account for your incoming email as well, you'll have all your email in one convenient place. Also, since Google's SMTP server does not use Port 25, you'll reduce the probability that an ISP might block your email or flag it as SPAM.

Settings

Google's SMTP server requires authentication, so here's how to set it up:

1. SMTP server (i.e., outgoing mail): smtp.gmail.com
2. SMTP username: Your full Gmail or Google Apps email address (e.g. example@gmail.com or example@yourdomain.com)
3. SMTP password: Your Gmail or Google Apps email password
4. SMTP port: 465
5. SMTP TLS/SSL required: yes
In order to store a copy of outgoing emails in your Gmail or Google Apps Sent folder, log into your Gmail or Google Apps email Settings and:
6. Click on the Forwarding/IMAP tab and scroll down to the IMAP Access section: IMAP must be enabled in order for emails to be properly copied to your sent folder.

NOTE: Google automatically rewrites the From line of any email you send via its SMTP server to the default Send mail as email address in your Gmail or Google Apps email account Settings. You need to be aware of this nuance because it affects the presentation of your email, from the point of view of the recepient, and it may also affect the Reply-To setting of some programs.

Workaround: In your Google email Settings, go to the Accounts tab/section and make "default" an account other than your Gmail/Google Apps account. This will cause Google's SMTP server to re-write the From field with whatever address you enabled as the default Send mail as address.

Sending Limits

Google limits the amount of mail a user can send, via its portable SMTP server. This limit restricts the number of messages sent per day to 99 emails; and the restriction is automatically removed within 24 hours after the limit was reached.

NO ICE WATER FOR DOGS…PLEASE READ ASAP

Warnings that placing ice in a dog's water dish may result in cramps, bloating or death of the pet.

I am writing this in hopes that some may learn from what I just went through. We were having a good weekend till Saturday. On Saturday I showed my Baran and left the ring. He was looking good and at the top of his game. He had a chance at no
less then one of the two AOM’s.

It did not work out that way. After showing we went back to our site/setup and got the dogs in their crates to cool off. After being back about 30 min. I noticed Baran was low on water. I took a hand full of ice from my cooler and put it in his bucket with more water. We then started to get all the dogs Ex’ed and food ready for them.

I had Baran in his 48′ crate in the van because this is the place he loves to be. He loves to be able to see everyone and verything. After checking him and thinking he was cooled off enough, we fed him. We walked around and one of my friends stated that Baran seamed like he was choking. I went over and checked on him. He was dry heaving and drooling. I got him out of the crate to check him over and noticed he had not eaten. He was in some distress. I checked him over from head to toe and did not notice anything. I walked him around for about a minute when I noticed that he was starting to bloat. I did everything I was taught to do in this case. I was not able to get him to burp, and we gave him Phasezime.

We rushed Baran to a vet clinic. We called ahead and let them know we were on our way. They were set up and waiting for us. They got Baran stabilized very quickly. After Baran was stable and out of distress we transported him to AVREC where he went into surgery to make sure no damage was done to any of his vital organs. I am very happy to say Baran is doing great, there was no damage to any vital organs, and he still loves his food.
In surgery the vet found that Baran’s stomach was in its normal anatomic position. We went over what had happened. When I told the vet about the ice water, he asked why I gave him ice water. I said that I have always done this. I told him my history behind this practice and his reply was, “I have been very lucky.” The ice water I gave Baran caused violent muscle spasms in his stomach which caused the bloating. Even though I figured his temperature was down enough to feed, and gave him this ice water, I was wrong. His internal temperature was still high. The vet stated that giving a dog ice to chew or ice water is a big NO, NO! There is no reason for a dog to have ice/ice water. Normal water at room temperature, or cooling with cold towels on the inner thigh, is the best way to help cool a dog. The vet explained it to me like this: If you, as a person, fall into a frozen lake what happens to your muscles? They cramp. This is the same as a dog’s stomach.

I felt the need to share this with everyone, in the hopes that some may learn from what I went through, I do not wish this on anyone. Baran is home now doing fine. So please, if you do use ice and ice water, beware of what could happen.

දැනගැනීමට -

1. රූට් කිරීමේදී ෆෝන් එකේ තියෙන දත්ත සියල්ල මැකී යනව. මතක තියාගන්න සම්පූර්ණ බැකප් එකක් දාගන්න රූට් කරන්න කලින්.
2. Brand-new හෝ අලුත් දුරකථන වල වගකීම් සහතිකය අවලංගු වේ. unroot කිරීමෙන් නැවත Warranty එක ගන්න පුලුවන්. මේක කරා කියල කාටවත් හොයා ගන්න බැහැ :)
3. නැවත Full unroot කල හැක. (SuperSU > Settings > Full unroot )
4. මෙම ක්‍රියාවලියෙන් කිසිදු Hard Brick හානියක් ‍සිදු නොවේ.
5. මේ දාන්න යන්නෙ කලින් රූට් කරපු එකක් ඒ නිසා අපහු රූට් කිරීමක් කරන්න ඕන නැ Stock Rom flash කරාම අැති..

රූට් කරන ආකාරය

1. USB Drivers පරිගණකයට Install කරගන්න, Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 USB Drivers මෙතනින් බාගතකරගන්න. දැනටමත් තියෙනවනම් අවශ්‍ය නොවේ.
2. රූට් කිරීමට අවශ්‍ය Files මෙතනින් ගන්න. GT-S7582.zip (632M) download කරගත්ත Zip Folder එක Extract කරගන්න. දැන් ඔයාලට පහල රූපය වගේ Files දෙකක් පේනව ඇති. ඒකෙන් Odin v3 Software එක Open කරගන්න.  
   
3. දැන් GT-S7582 Phone එක Power off කරන්න.
4. දැන් අපි ‍ GT-S7582 Phone එකේ Download Mode එකට ඇතුල් වෙන්න ඕන. එ්ක කරන්නෙ මෙහෙමයි. Phone එකේ Volum Down + Power Button + Menu Button එකපාර ඔබාගෙන ඉන්න Display On වෙනකම්.
   
   
   
5. දැන් ඔයාලට පහල රූපය වගේ කහ පාටින් Wanrning Triangle එකක් පේනව ඇති. දැන් ඉදිරියට යන්න Volume Up Key එක ඔබන්න.
   
6. දැන් Computer එකට Download කරගත්ත Odin V3 Open කරගෙන  GT-S7582 USB හරහා connect කරන්න. Odin V3 එකෙන් Automatically Phone එක Detect වෙයි. "Added" යනුවෙන් Massage එකක් අවනම් Odin V3 එක දුරකථනය හදුනාගෙන තියෙන්නෙ. එවැනි Massage එකක් ආවෙ නැත්තම් නැවත වරක් සම්භන්ධ කර බලන්න. ඒත‍් නැත්තම් ෆෝන් එකේ USB Drivers Install කරල අපහු මුල ඉදල මේක කරන්න.

7. දැන් PDA කියන තැන Tik Mark එක දාල PDA Button එක Click කරන්න.  දැන් ඔයාල Download කරගත්ත Root files වල "Pre_rooted_GT-S7582.tar" කියන එක තොරල දීල පහල තියෙන  Start ‍Button එක ‍ඔබන්න. දැන් ‍ෆ‍ෝන් එක ඔඩින් හරහා Flash වෙනව. Flash වීම අතරතුර ෆෝන් එක Automatically Restart වෙයි. මේ වෙලාවෙ ෆෝන් එක අලලන්නවත් එපා. USB Disconnect උනොත් අවුල් වෙන්න පුලුවන්. අය On වෙන්නෙ නැති වෙයි ෆෝන් එක.
   
   
8. දැන් පහල රූපය වගේ කොල පාටින් Pass යනුවෙන් Massage එක අවනම් වැඩේ ගොඩ. USBකේබල් එක ගලවන්න දැන් ආපහු ෆෝන් එක Restart වෙයි.
9. දැන් ඔයාලගෙ phone එකේ මේ වග‍ේ SuperSU App එකක් තියනව ෆෝන් එක නිවැරදිව රූට් වෙලා තියෙන්නෙ. :)

After extensive testing Google has finally revealed Android L 5.0 is in fact named Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Android Lollipop Has A Big Red Button

Google has now revealed Android Lollipop will come with what is being termed a “kill switch”. A feature called “Factory Reset Protection” will be included in the update that will ensure you need to enter a password before you can reset the device.
Google introduced a feature last year where you could remotely lock your phone down. If you were to combine both these features it would mean your Android phone has a “kill switch” so whenever you lose your phone or it’s stolen it’ll be rendered useless.
Apple has had a similar feature in iOS for quite a while so Google is playing a little catch up with this one.

Material Design is the driving force behind the new update. It completely changes the interface with more fluid animations and a cleaner design. There’s a brand new multitasking menu and even more ways to use your voice.
Most of this was demonstrated at the Google I/O when Android L was announced and you’ll find all you need to know down below this section.
The biggest addition in the announcement today is arguably the new battery saver mode. All devices running on Android L will be able to activate this mode and save more than 90 minutes of battery life between charges. The feature has been seen on various manufacturers devices but it is now a part of the core Android experience.
Android 5.0 includes multiple user accounts as well as a guest user mode. There is also a bunch of new ways to secure your device using trusted Bluetooth connections.
The biggest announcement is when it’ll be landing. It will debut on three new Nexus devices the Nexus 6, the Nexus 9 and the Nexus Player streaming device.
It’ll then roll out to the Nexus 5, Nexus 7, Nexus 10 and the Google Play Edition devices in the coming weeks. No mention of the Nexus 4 so far.
Other manufacturers will then follow but we are yet to hear specific dates for the roll out. Expect your recent Android device to receive the update, especially if your manufacturer is pretty good at rolling them out thick and fast (e.g Motorola).

3. Enter website as www.dialogwap.com (separation should be full stop not comma)

GPRS settings vary from phone to phone. On a case by case basis you can add the following settings:
Case 1: Enter the Gateway IP as 192.168.122.2
Case 2: Enter the Proxy IP as 192.168.122.2 and port 8080
Case 3: Enter the Gateway IP as 192.168.122.2 and port 9201

3. Open Message Settings.
4. Open Server Profile.
5. Create/Edit a Profile and enter the following values:

6. Save the Profile.
7. Activate the Profile.
8. MMS services now ready to use. In case you encounter errors, double check the Data Account and Profile created. In some cases you need to restart the phone.
